Dr. Anna Lozano-Partida, Principal, Epiphany Prep, Escondido
It is with great pleasure, and enthusiasm, that I join the Epiphany Prep family. It is an honor to be a part of such a passionate and innovative team that truly puts students first. As the Principal, I hope to continue Epiphany Prep’s mission while building upon the strengths of our students and our community. I look forward to working with our parents, students, staff and our community members. There is no doubt in my mind that together we are going to create an amazing, and innovative learning environment for our students.
Education has always been dear to my heart. While it has opened many doors for me, it has also allowed me to motivate and empower others. I have had to overcome a lot of adversity on my own educational path. As a result, I have made it my lifelong commitment to help make the path of others a lot easier. My parents immigrated to the United States in hope of a better future for their children. They did not speak English, nor did they understand the American educational system, but they made sure all of their children tried their best. With determination, and much tenacity, I completed my Bachelors of Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), my Masters in Leadership and Administration from Chapman University, and I am currently working on my Doctorate in Educational Leadership through the joint program at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and California State University San Marcos (CSUSM). Learning and teaching is not just what I do, it is who I am. My strong belief in the power of education is what motivates me to do the work I do everyday.
Prior to joining the Epiphany Prep team, I was an assistant principal in the Vista Unified School District. Before joining Vista, I worked in Palmdale Unified School District. In Palmdale, I served as an administrative designee, English language learner lead, and as the data intervention lead. I also had the opportunity to teach 7th grade math, science, and the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program. All of these roles have allowed me to grow as a leader and they have affirmed my passion for serving students.
I am blessed to have the support of my husband, and my family, on this exciting journey. My husband Mario, has always encouraged and empowered me as I venture into new endeavours. My mom has, and will always be, my rock. She has always believed in me and because of her I understand the importance of supporting not only our students, but our families. During my free time I enjoy running, hiking, and doing anything that allows me to be outdoors. I truly believe that in order for us to be productive citizens, we need to be well rounded people. In the future, I hope to promote and model this concept. I am very excited to join the Epiphany Prep family!
